Polished and HonedWhite Wooden Marble, also known as White Wood Marble, White Wood Grain Marble, White Serpeggiante, Silk Georgette and Striato Bianco, is a Chinese marble from Guizhou. It has a white to grey-white background with fine, parallel grey and silver wood-grain bands. As a White Wooden Marble supplier, Excellent Stone supplies slabs, floor tiles, wall tiles, stairs and custom cut-to-size pieces, with grain direction and cutting method selected to suit the final layout.

White Wooden Marble can vary from lighter, fine-grained selections to deeper grey-white material with broader bands. For project orders, background tone should be considered together with grain density, continuity and the final cut size.
White Wooden Marble is a natural marble from Guizhou, China, recognized by its closely spaced linear bands resembling wood grain. Its background normally carries grey and silver tones, so it is better described as a semi-white directional marble rather than a pure-white stone.
Unlike Carrara or Calacatta, White Wooden is defined less by individual veins and more by repetition, spacing and direction. The grain becomes part of the architectural layout, especially in floors, walls and stairs.
The material is also traded as White Wood Marble, White Wood Grain Marble and White Serpeggiante. “White Serpeggiante” refers here to the Chinese material and should not be confused with Italian Serpeggiante stones.
For project purchasing, White Wooden should be selected by four main factors: background tone, grain density, grain continuity and secondary natural lines.
White Wooden ranges from lighter grey-white to deeper silver-grey. A lighter background can look cleaner, but the whitest material is not automatically the best project selection. For large floors or repeated wall modules, consistent grain and batch tone may matter more than maximum whiteness.
Fine, closely spaced grain creates a more continuous rhythm across repeated tiles, while broader bands create stronger movement and greater variation between cut pieces.
Tile dimensions should therefore be considered together with grain density. A broad band can disappear inside a narrow strip, while very dense grain may become visually busy across a large field.
White Wooden batches range from straight, regular grain to more visibly wavy movement. For directional projects, we compare:
White Wooden can naturally contain crystal lines, red lines and water lines. These should not automatically be treated as defects. For cleaner project selections, the important factors are their frequency, position and distribution across the finished pieces.
For most architectural projects, we look for:
The best selection is the one that works with the finished layout, not simply the whitest slab.
Cutting direction substantially changes the appearance of White Wooden Marble.

Vein cutting follows the natural layers and produces the familiar long, parallel wood-grain lines. It is the classic White Wooden appearance and is particularly suitable for floor tiles, corridor flooring, wall tiles, long wall runs, stairs and directional cut-to-size pieces.
Once vein-cut material is selected, grain direction should be fixed before production. Rotating the same tile by 90 degrees can noticeably change the overall rhythm.
Cross cutting passes across the layered structure. The straight grain becomes softer and more irregular, creating cloud-like, ripple or flowing movement. Cross cut is suitable when the project wants the White Wooden color range without a strong linear direction.
Vein cut is preferred when grain direction is part of the architecture; cross cut is preferred for a softer, less directional surface.

White Wooden does not always come in the same oversized slab proportions as many other marbles. Market stock commonly includes slabs around 1000–1200 mm high, while taller slabs depend on larger blocks.
For tall wall panels, oversized cut-to-size pieces, large stair landings or long architectural pieces, finished dimensions should be checked against current slab stock before the cutting plan is finalized.
Floor tiles are one of the strongest applications for White Wooden because the parallel grain can control the direction of the entire space.
Excellent Stone currently offers:

For vein-cut tiles, laying direction should be decided before production. Same-direction layouts create the strongest continuity, while controlled alternating directions can be used for deliberate patterns. Random rotation during installation can make the floor look disordered.
Tile size should be matched to the slab pattern. A 300 × 600 mm tile cut from fine, regular grain may retain several clear parallel lines, while the same module cut from broad-banded material can vary much more from piece to piece.
For large projects, the relationship between grain density and tile module can matter more than choosing the lightest background.
White Wooden is particularly suitable for dry-lay control because its direction is easy to read.
Drawing → grain direction → cutting → dry lay where required → piece numbering → packing helps preserve the intended layout through installation.
White Wooden works particularly well where the design requires architectural rhythm rather than dramatic marble movement. Typical uses include bathroom walls, corridor walls, hotel and commercial interiors, elevator lobbies, long wall runs and ordered cut-to-size panels.
Horizontal grain emphasizes length and can make a long wall or corridor feel wider.
Vertical grain emphasizes height and produces a different architectural proportion.
The direction should therefore be included in the approved elevation or cutting plan rather than decided only during installation. For multi-panel walls, background tone and grain density should also remain within the approved range.
White Wooden is an established material for large modular floors. Published competitor project evidence includes a documented 45,600 m² White Wooden marble flooring project using geometric cut-to-size tiles with individual processing and QC.
Large White Wooden floors depend on:
For large quantities, these factors are more useful than judging only one attractive sample tile.
White Wooden is well suited to stair packages because the linear grain can be coordinated across treads, risers and landings.
| Reference Product | Common Market Dimensions |
|---|---|
| Treads | 1100–1500 × 300–330 × 20/30 mm |
| Risers | 1100–1500 × 140–160 × 20 mm |
These are market reference sizes rather than fixed Excellent Stone specifications. Custom stair pieces can be produced according to project drawings.
Treads in the same flight should follow the approved direction. Risers should coordinate with the tread layout, while landings connect the visual direction between flights. Piece numbering helps preserve this sequence during packing and installation.
White Wooden can also be fabricated into countertops, vanity tops, backsplashes and custom surfaces, although these are secondary applications compared with floors, walls and stairs.

For long tops, grain direction remains the main visual consideration. Sink or cooktop cutouts can interrupt strong linear bands, so the slab should be reviewed together with final dimensions and cutout locations before fabrication.
For vanity sets, the top and backsplash can continue the same grain direction or use an intentionally different orientation.
Polished White Wooden gives stronger contrast between the grey-white background and linear grain. It is commonly used for slabs, walls, interior floors, countertops and vanity tops.
Honed White Wooden has lower reflection and a softer visual effect while retaining the directional grain.
Brushed White Wooden introduces more surface texture and reduces gloss further. Other finishes can be produced according to project requirements, while polished and honed remain the main interior options.

Choose whether the project requires strong linear grain or a softer cross-cut appearance.
Compare the actual slab pattern with the requested tile, panel or stair dimensions.
For floors, walls and stairs, define orientation before cutting.
Review multiple slabs or pieces together. For project quantities, batch consistency is usually more important than maximum whiteness.
Check crystal lines, red lines and water lines against the approved visual range and the location of important finished pieces.
Slab height, cutting area and grain direction must support the final panel, tile or stair dimensions before fabrication.
Excellent Stone supplies White Wooden Marble slabs, floor tiles, wall tiles, stairs and cut-to-size pieces for wholesalers, contractors, fabricators and project buyers.

Buyers can request current slab photos and videos and compare available selections before confirming an order. Selection can be reviewed by vein cut or cross cut, background range, grain density, grain direction, dimensions, finish, quantity and approved visual tolerance.
For cut-to-size orders, production can follow approved drawings and piece numbers, with dry laying where the project layout requires it.
QC can include:
The objective is to keep the approved grain direction and visual range controlled from slab selection through cutting, packing and installation.
White Wooden Marble comes from Guizhou, China. It is also marketed as White Wood Marble, White Wood Grain Marble, White Serpeggiante and several other commercial names.
No. It is a semi-white marble with white, grey-white and silver-grey tones, defined by parallel grey wood-grain bands.
Vein cut produces long, parallel wood-grain lines. Cross cut changes the same layered stone into softer cloud-like, ripple or flowing movement.
For large floors, grain direction, grain density and batch consistency are generally more important than simply choosing the whitest selection.
For directional and cut-to-size projects, dry laying helps verify grain direction, piece distribution and numbering before packing and installation.
Excellent Stone supplies common sizes including 305 × 305, 300 × 300, 400 × 400, 300 × 600 and 600 × 600 mm, with customized sizes available.
