Thinner tiles use less material and reduce overall weight. Around 10 mm can be produced for wall applications, where lighter pieces can be useful. For flooring, we generally recommend a thicker specification rather than defaulting to 10 mm because thinner natural stone has less tolerance to damage during handling, installation and later use. Final thickness should still be selected according to tile size, substrate, load and installation conditions.
