The overall batch should remain within the approved white to grey-white range. Individual pieces can vary naturally, but noticeably darker, greyer or warmer pieces should be reviewed against the intended flooring appearance before production and layout.

Vein Density and Intensity

Carrara selections can range from lightly veined to more active. For quieter flooring, finer and more dispersed grey veins usually create a more continuous visual field. Projects seeking stronger natural character can use selections with denser or darker veining.

Overall Movement

Linear or diagonal veins create more direction across the flooring, while softer clouds and dispersed veins produce a less directional surface. Material selection should therefore consider the appearance of several tiles together rather than judging each piece independently.

For continuous flooring areas, closely matched material can be selected according to the approved appearance. Unless the design intentionally calls for contrast or grouping, noticeably darker or more active pieces should not be unintentionally concentrated in one area.

This makes it possible to review background distribution, vein activity and visible transitions across multiple pieces. Tile positions can then be adjusted where required to create a more balanced surface or to follow an approved directional layout.

Reviewing multiple tiles together makes overall tone distribution and vein activity easier to evaluate.

Where project organization is required, finished pieces can also be numbered and coordinated with production and packing records to simplify site installation.

Natural Marble Care

Carrara is a natural calcitic marble and can be affected by acidic substances. pH-neutral stone cleaners are recommended for routine maintenance to reduce the risk of surface etching.

Sealing can be specified according to the finish and installation environment to improve stain resistance. Natural differences in background tone and grey veining remain part of the material and should be considered during selection and layout planning.

Tile Grouping, Identification and Packing

For flooring projects, Carrara tiles can be grouped according to their material appearance and organized before packing. This helps keep related selections together and makes project identification easier during installation.
