Import Advantage for U.S. Projects
Cambodian G654 Blue Mist granite is quarried in Cambodia and shipped through Ho Chi Minh City Port. It gives U.S. contractors, distributors and project importers an alternative source that avoids tariffs applied to Chinese natural stone while retaining a familiar dark-grey G654 appearance.
Blue Mist is a Cambodian G654 granite with a compact, fine-grained grey pattern. Its small black, white and blue-grey mineral points create a relatively even visual field across multiple tread units. This makes it suitable for repeated stair runs where adjoining pieces need a coordinated dark-grey appearance without strong directional veining.
The material becomes lighter and more matte after thermal processing. The natural-split edge remains darker and rougher, creating a visible contrast between the controlled top surface and the hand-worked exposed face.
The photographed construction uses different treatments on separate faces. The top is thermally processed to create a granular exterior texture, while the visible front or side edge is split to produce an irregular rockface appearance. The underside and concealed faces can remain sawn unless the drawing identifies another treatment.
Natural splitting does not create a perfectly uniform edge. The approved sample should define the acceptable depth, projection and overall roughness of the exposed face before bulk production.
This product should be ordered as a drawing-based stair or landscape component rather than as a generic granite tile. The current page does not publish one fixed finished size, so the cutting list must define each piece by its installed position.
Straight rectangular treads can be produced for regular stair flights. Curved, tapered, corner or irregular pieces require radius information, templates or numbered fabrication drawings. The order schedule should also identify left-hand and right-hand exposed ends where applicable.
Cambodian G654 treads with natural-split edges are mainly used where the top requires a controlled exterior finish and the visible face is intended to retain a rough stone character.
The final tread thickness, support, drainage, joints and installation method must match the project design. Surface finish alone does not determine the structural capacity or suitability of the complete stair assembly.
Step units should be checked as a project batch because the finished result depends on repeated dimensions and the visual relationship between neighboring natural-split edges.
Finished tread units are separated to protect the thermal faces and prevent direct impact between rough split edges. Piece labels can identify the stair number, level, exposed end or installation sequence. The components are then secured in reinforced fumigated wooden crates for export handling.

To compare the same material in other formats, review Cambodian Blue Mist granite tiles in the same material family and Blue Mist granite pavers. A smoother rounded edge is shown on the Cambodia G654 full-bullnose stair treads.

Yes. Cambodian G654 can be fabricated as exterior stair treads, entrance steps and landscape step units. The photographed product combines a thermal walking surface with a natural-split exposed edge.
Yes. Thermal or flamed processing creates a textured, matte surface commonly specified for exterior granite steps. Required wet-condition performance should still be confirmed against the project standard, installation and maintenance conditions.
No. A natural-split or rockface edge is intentionally rough and irregular. A bullnose edge is mechanically shaped into a smooth rounded profile.
Yes. Length, depth, thickness, edge position, exposed ends and special corner pieces can be produced from an approved stair schedule, profile or fabrication drawing.
Yes. Left-hand, right-hand or double-exposed ends can receive sawn, thermal, brushed or natural-split treatment according to their installed position.
No. Natural splitting creates normal variation in relief, projections and shadow. An approved sample should define the acceptable roughness range for bulk production.
No. A thermal finish improves surface texture compared with polished granite, but final slip performance also depends on the stone, drainage, installation, contamination, maintenance and the project’s testing requirements.
Yes. The material originates in Cambodia and is shipped through Ho Chi Minh City Port, providing U.S. buyers with an alternative source that avoids tariffs applied to Chinese natural stone.
