Sivec White Marble is a fine-grained white dolomitic marble from Prilep, North Macedonia, known for its clean white background, fine crystalline texture and restrained grey movement. As a Sivec marble supplier, Excellent Stone supplies Sivec marble slabs, tiles and cut-to-size project pieces. We help buyers compare current selections by whiteness, clouding, veining and slab consistency, then match the material range to project appearance, fabrication requirements and budget.

Sivec slabs can range from a cleaner, quieter white field to selections with more visible grey clouding or linear movement. Actual slabs should be reviewed as a group before project allocation.

Large Sivec installations depend on more than the appearance of one slab. White tone, clouding and visible movement need to work consistently across adjoining panels and project pieces.

Sivec White Marble from North Macedonia

Sivec White Marble, also traded as Bianco Sivec and White Macedonian Marble, comes from the Prilep region of North Macedonia. It is a fine-grained dolomitic marble with a predominantly white appearance and relatively low visual movement.

Published mineralogical references describe Sivec as approximately 90% dolomite, 8% calcite and 2% quartz. Published references for A1/A2 selections describe a fine crystalline grain structure around 0.1–0.4 mm, contributing to the smooth and visually continuous white surface associated with the material.

Unlike white marbles selected mainly for dramatic veins, Sivec is valued primarily for background whiteness, fine crystalline texture, restrained grey markings, low contrast and visual uniformity.

Sivec Marble Appearance

White Background

Sivec ranges from clean white to bright white. Cleaner selections have a more even white field, while other selections may show more grey, beige or slight pink tonal influence.

Fine Crystalline Texture

The fine crystalline grain gives polished Sivec a subtle brightness without creating strong directional movement. Honed surfaces soften this effect while retaining the material's clean white character.

Grey Clouds and Veining

Cleaner Sivec selections may show only faint grey veils or very limited veins. More active selections can contain visible grey clouds, scattered markings or stronger veins. Overall, Sivec remains a relatively calm, low-contrast marble compared with more strongly veined white stones.

For multi-piece projects, Sivec pieces are more useful when reviewed together. Factory layout makes differences in white tone, grey clouding and vein intensity easier to compare before installation.

What Makes a Better Sivec Marble Selection?

For projects seeking the classic clean Sivec appearance, we prioritize background purity and overall slab consistency before decorative veining.

Background Whiteness

A stronger clean-white selection maintains a clear white appearance across most of the slab rather than only in isolated bright areas. For large floors and walls, consistent white tone across several slabs is normally more important than selecting one exceptionally white slab.

Beige or Pink Influence

Some Sivec selections contain beige or slight pink tonal influence. For projects designed around a clean architectural white, lower levels of these tones normally create a purer result. Projects with a wider approved visual range can accept more tonal influence and use a broader commercial selection.

Grey Clouding and Veining

Soft and evenly distributed grey veils can remain visually balanced. Strong localized clouding or higher-contrast veins create a more active surface. Premium minimalist interiors normally favor restrained markings, while projects accepting stronger natural variation can work with a broader selection.

Crystal Uniformity

Fine and relatively even crystal distribution supports the continuous white appearance associated with Sivec. On large surfaces, noticeable changes in crystalline texture can become visible even where the overall background remains white.

Sivec Marble Selections and Project Choice

Commercial terms such as Extra, A1, A2, B, C and other selection names are used in the Sivec market. The grade name alone does not determine whether a slab is right for a project. We compare the actual material by whiteness, clouding, veining, tonal influence and overall consistency.

Selection Direction Typical Appearance Best Fit Cost Direction
Cleaner / Higher White Clear white field, minimal veins, low clouding Premium floors, walls, lobbies and minimalist interiors Higher selection range
Balanced White background with soft clouds or light grey veins General architectural and commercial projects Mid-range
More Active More visible veins, clouding or tonal influence Projects accepting wider natural variation More flexible

The whitest slab is not automatically the best purchasing decision. The correct Sivec selection depends on how much natural variation the finished project can accept and how tightly multiple slabs need to match.

What Changes the Cost of Sivec Marble?

Selection Cleaner, higher-white and more uniform slabs normally belong to a higher selection range.
Slab Matching Projects requiring many closely matched slabs need tighter material allocation.
Thickness 18 mm, 20 mm, 30 mm and other thicknesses involve different material and processing requirements.
Finish Polished, honed and textured finishes involve different processing.
Fabrication Slabs, standard tiles and detailed cut-to-size packages require different production work.
Quantity Project quantity affects slab allocation, visual matching and production planning.

How We Select and Match Sivec Marble Slabs

Because Sivec has relatively low visual movement, differences in white tone and clouding become especially noticeable when several slabs or project pieces are installed together. For multi-slab projects, we select the material as a group rather than judging every slab independently.

1. Define the Visual Range

Before material confirmation, we establish the required white direction, acceptable clouding and vein intensity, quantity, level of slab consistency and project budget.

2. Compare Current Material

Available Sivec slabs and project pieces are compared by background tone, grey clouding, vein intensity, crystalline appearance and overall visual consistency. Current slab photos and videos can be provided before confirmation.

3. Group Compatible Slabs and Pieces

For the same wall, floor, stair set or connected architectural area, pieces should remain within a close visual range so the finished installation reads as one coordinated project.

4. Review Layout Before Fabrication

For cut-to-size Sivec marble orders, material selection remains connected to final fabrication. Piece position and visible markings can be reviewed before cutting for wall panels, flooring, stairs, vanity tops, countertop pieces and other project packages.

Sivec Marble Applications

Large Floors and Wall Cladding

Sivec works particularly well on large architectural surfaces where the design requires a clean white field with limited decorative movement. Common uses include hotel lobbies, reception areas, commercial walls, large-format panels, villa flooring and feature walls. For these applications, slab-to-slab matching is a key part of material selection.

Bathrooms, Vanity Tops and Countertops

Sivec can be fabricated for bathroom vanity tops, wall panels, shower surrounds, countertop pieces, islands and bar tops. Its clean white field and low visual movement are particularly effective in bathrooms and minimalist interiors.

For kitchen and food-preparation areas, natural marble should be specified with its normal acid sensitivity in mind. Lemon, vinegar, wine, tomato and similar acidic substances can etch marble surfaces. Bathroom vanities and other lower-acid-use interiors are a more straightforward application, while kitchen projects should be selected with the expected use and maintenance requirements clearly understood.

Large Architectural Projects

Sivec can also be fabricated for large architectural packages involving exterior cladding, interior flooring, columns and custom stone elements. At this scale, material range, piece coordination and project layout become part of the supply plan rather than an individual-slab decision.

Stairs and Cut-to-Size Packages

Stair treads and risers should be selected as one coordinated visual group. White tone, grey clouding and visible veins between connected pieces should remain within an approved range so the completed stair does not appear fragmented.

Exterior Applications

Sivec can be considered for selected exterior applications, but finish and exposure conditions should be specified together. Polished Sivec is better suited to interior applications where its gloss can be maintained, while matt or textured finishes are generally the more practical direction for exterior work.

Sivec Marble vs Carrara and Calacatta

Marble Main Visual Character Best Design Direction
Sivec White Marble Cleaner white field, fine crystalline grain, restrained veins, low movement Calm and continuous white surfaces
Carrara White Marble Softer grey-white field with more visible grey veining Classic natural marble movement
Calacatta Marble Higher contrast and stronger decorative veins Statement surfaces and expressive marble patterns

Sivec is not the first choice when the design requires bold decorative veins. It is a stronger direction when the goal is a clean, restrained and relatively continuous natural white surface.

FAQ

Is Sivec marble pure white?

Sivec is known for its clean white appearance, but natural slabs still vary. Cleaner selections show a more uniform white field, while other selections may contain light grey clouds, subtle veins or slight beige or pink tonal influence.

What is the difference between Sivec A1, A2 and other selections?

Commercial selection names help describe different material ranges, but buyers should compare the actual slabs. Background whiteness, grey clouding, vein intensity, tonal influence and overall consistency are more useful purchasing criteria than the grade name alone.

What makes a good Sivec marble slab?

For the classic clean Sivec appearance, we prioritize an even white background, fine and consistent crystalline texture, restrained grey markings, limited beige or pink influence and good slab-to-slab consistency.

What thicknesses are available for Sivec marble slabs?

Excellent Stone supplies Sivec marble in 15 mm, 18 mm, 20 mm, 25 mm and 30 mm thicknesses. For slab and architectural project orders, 18 mm, 20 mm and 30 mm are the most common requirements.

How should Sivec marble be selected for a large project?

Define the required visual range first, then compare actual slabs for background tone, clouding, veining and crystalline appearance. Compatible slabs should be grouped for connected project areas, and the final material layout should be reviewed before fabrication.
