Calacatta Stream Quartz Slabs

Quartz stone is a man-made engineered stone material, widely used for kitchen countertops, vanity tops, wall tiles and cabinet surfaces.

Main Composition

It is made of 90%–94% natural quartz crystals, whose chemical composition is silicon dioxide (SiO₂). Quartz is the hardest mineral after diamond, giving the material excellent scratch resistance and high hardness.

The remaining ingredients include 5%–8% polyester resin as adhesive, inorganic pigments for color matching, plus a small amount of anti-stain, antibacterial and anti-aging additives. Some decorative styles add crushed glass or mirror fragments for a shiny effect.

Quartz slabs are engineered with extremely low porosity. They fully block liquids like oil, coffee, wine, juice and vinegar from seeping in. No permanent stains will form, and acid household liquids cannot corrode the surface. Unlike natural marble, it never requires regular sealing treatment.

2.  Superior Scratch & Wear Resistance

Over 90% natural quartz crystal gives it a high Mohs hardness of 6–7. Daily kitchen knives, metal pots and tableware cannot scratch its polished surface. It stands up to heavy long-term use for both residential and commercial countertops.

3. Anti-Bacterial & Food-Safe

The compact, pore-free surface leaves no tiny gaps to trap dirt, mold or bacteria. It can be easily disinfected, making it perfectly safe for food-prep areas such as kitchen worktops, bakery counters and restaurant bar tops.

4. Consistent, Uniform Appearance

As a man-made engineered stone, quartz has stable, controllable vein and speckle patterns. Every slab maintains consistent color and texture without natural color variation, which allows seamless book-matching for large countertops and wall panels. There are thousands of designs including marble-look, solid color and subtle fleck styles.

5. Low Daily Maintenance

No special wax, sealant or stone cleaner is needed. Daily cleaning only requires a damp cloth and mild detergent to wipe off spills and dust. It saves much time and maintenance cost compared to natural stone.

6.  Impact & Crack Resistance

Its composite structure of quartz crystals and resin binder delivers better anti-crack performance than soft marble. It can withstand common accidental knocks and falls of cookware under normal household use.
