Blue Pearl Irregular Cut Granite Flagging Pavers

This product is a precision-cut granite paving system rather than loose random flagstone. Seven individually shaped pieces are dry-laid into one repeatable mosaic set. The curved and angled outlines create an organic flagging appearance, while the repeated pattern makes quantities, cutting and installation planning more predictable.

Blue Pearl is commercially sold as a blue granite and originates from Norway. The finished flagging shown here is processed for export in China and shipped through Xiamen. Its coarse blue-grey crystalline structure can look darker and more reflective when polished, but exterior flamed or brushed processing produces a lighter silver-grey appearance with more visible texture.

Seven-Piece Repeating Puzzle Pattern

Each paving set contains seven different shapes that meet along predetermined curved and angled joints. Once one set is completed, the outer edges are designed to connect with the next set. This creates a broad irregular visual effect without relying on uncontrolled random pieces.

For purchasing and installation, quantities should be calculated in complete sets rather than only as individual pieces. The order should also identify the required joint width, installation orientation, total paving area and any border treatment. An approved numbered layout helps prevent pieces from different sets being mixed during packing and installation.

Flamed, Brushed and Waterjet Finish Options

A flamed surface exposes the mineral grain and gives the Blue Pearl flagging a textured, lighter grey appearance. Adding brushing softens the sharpest high points while retaining the outdoor texture. A flamed + waterjet finish can create a more evenly textured face according to the approved sample.

The blue reflective crystals are less prominent on a coarse exterior finish than on polished Blue Pearl slabs. Buyers should therefore approve the material and the selected finish together. Lighting, moisture and viewing angle can also change how blue or silver-grey the finished pavers appear.

Factory Dry-Lay and Pattern Inspection

The first completed set should be dry-laid before bulk cutting is approved. This inspection checks whether every curve and angle fits the pattern, whether the agreed joint allowance is consistent, and whether all seven shapes are present.

During production, each shape can be assigned a piece code. Set-by-set quantity control is especially important because a shortage of one shape can prevent the pattern from being completed even when the total number of pieces appears correct.

Applications and Installation Planning

The repeating irregular pattern is suitable for patios, garden paths, courtyards, pedestrian plazas and feature paving where buyers want the appearance of natural flagstone with controlled factory-cut shapes. The 1.5-inch reference thickness must still be checked against traffic, base construction, bedding method, climate and local installation standards.

Before ordering, the installer or project team should review the pattern drawing, set coverage, joint width, perimeter cuts and transitions to walls, curbs, steps or drainage elements. Border pieces are not shown on the existing page and should be included separately if the pattern must end at a straight project boundary.

Packing and Information Required for a Quote

Irregular puzzle-cut pieces should be packed by pattern code rather than mixed as loose flagstone. Protective separators help reduce edge contact, while crate labels can identify the set quantity, shape codes, finish, project area and installation phase.

Send the following information for an accurate quotation:

  • Total paving area and the required number of complete seven-piece sets.
  • Approved pattern drawing, individual-piece dimensions or physical template.
  • Required 1.5-inch thickness or another project-approved thickness.
  • Flamed, flamed + brushed or flamed + waterjet finish.
  • Required joint width, installation orientation and straight-border details.
  • Shape codes, spare-piece requirements and crate-label instructions.
  • Destination port and required delivery schedule.

A current material and finish sample, by one approved dry-laid set, provides a clearer production standard than approving the order from one small stone sample alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this loose random flagstone?

No. It is a controlled seven-piece repeating system. The pieces look irregular, but each shape is precision-cut to connect with the other pieces in the approved puzzle pattern.

How many pieces are included in one pattern set?

One repeating set contains seven differently shaped pieces. Order quantities and packing lists should state both the total number of sets and the quantity of each individual shape.

Why does flamed Blue Pearl look grey instead of bright blue?

Flaming creates a rougher, lighter-looking surface and reduces the mirror-like reflection of the blue crystals. The stone can appear more silver-grey outdoors than a polished Blue Pearl slab.

Can the pattern or thickness be customized?

The existing product uses a seven-piece pattern and a 1.5-inch reference thickness. Other requirements can be reviewed from a dimensioned drawing or template, but changes may affect cutting yield, set coverage, packing and price.

What should be approved before bulk production?

Approve the current Blue Pearl material, surface finish, dimensioned pattern, joint allowance, individual piece codes, dry-laid sample set, quantity by shape, packing labels and delivery requirements.
