What material is used for the steel rod?
The materials of bar rods are iron, galvanized, stainless steel, copper, aluminum alloy and fiber. They have their own characteristics in the reinforcement of marble. The most ideal reinforcement material is stainless steel, which will not rust and has high reinforcement strength, but higher cost.
Plastic rods are flexible substances,and the reinforcement strength is not enough when reinforcing some large-sized stones,slender stones, and heavy-quality stones. In these cases,plastic rods cannot be used for reinforcement.

What is the main reason for the re-rust lesions of steel rods?
1. The iron reinforcement bars are eroded by water during stone processing, gradually oxidize and rust, and then migrate to the stone surface through the capillary pores of the stone to form regular rust spots.
2. After the stone is installed, the back reinforcement strip is eroded and rusted by the acid water vapor of the cement in the base of the stone, and migrates to the surface of the stone to form yellow rust spots.
The rust caused by the iron rods cannot be completely controlled. Since the pollution source is inside the stone, the stone is eroded by acidic substances and water vapor in the base layer after installation. As the water vapor continues to rise, the pollutants continue to migrate to the surface of the stone to form stubborn rust spots, even if the stone is temporarily restored with rust removal products. Part of the surface is rusted, but the rusted back ribs of the pollution source may continue to rust.
The rust spots caused by the iron rods cannot be completely rooted, so it is necessary to strictly control the installation process and the correct selection of materials when the stone is implanted into the reinforcement bars. In order to avoid adverse effects on the stone industry, try not to use iron rods, especially light-colored marble.
For marble with many cracks on the surface, the slab must be sealed well. If the surface cracks are not repaired well, the steel will rust after the stone is added to the steel, because the water enters the interior of the stone through the cracks on the surface of the stone, causing the steel to rust and cause stone lesions.
What are the technical requirements for marble steel rods?
01. Requirements on the stone thickness 18-20mm 
Usually, the diameter of the steel bar reinforced by the marble tiles is 6mm, and the depth of the groove for adding the steel bar is 8mm. There is 11-12mm thickness left,the rust will not easy to penetrate into the stone surface.
For marble reinforced with steel bars, the distance between the steel bars and the stone surface should be >10mm. Once the steel bars are rusted, the rust will not easily rise to the stone surface. Of course, if the waterproofing of the stone is done well, this possibility will not exist. Therefore, the waterproofing of the stone reinforced with steel bars as the back reinforcement should be done well to prevent water from infiltrating into the stone.
02. Requirements for rust removal and oil removal of steel bars
Reinforcing steel is a very rust-prone substance, and it will rust quickly when placed in a humid environment. Therefore, when marble is used as a backing bar, it must be carefully rusted to achieve a state of no rust on the surface of the steel bar.
03. Requirements for cleaning and drying in the bar groove
Drying in the bar groove can prevent the rebar from rusting in the stone, but many stone processing companies will not strictly implement this process requirement. As soon as the steel bar groove is opened, use the air pipe to blow the water in the groove, and add steel bars when there is no water on the surface of the groove.
In this case, adding steel bars, the water vapor in the stone will rust the steel bars under the long-term action of the water vapor.
04. Requirements for glue and application
Reinforcing steel bars should be reinforced with special glue, and glue should be prepared in strict proportion. After the steel bar is reinforced with glue, the glue and the steel bar should be firmly bonded together.
Some steel bars and glue are not tightly and firmly combined together. When the steel bars are pulled hard, the steel bars and the glue are separated. The glue does not wrap the steel bars at all, and the water penetrates the glue and makes the steel bars rust.
05.Do not use steel bars for marbles that are prone to yellowing
Some marbles that are prone to yellowing should not use steel bars as back ribs, such as white crystal, Baoxing white, Yashi white, snow white, Carrara white and other similar stones.
These stones are prone to yellowing even without reinforcement. Adding reinforcement may accelerate yellowing and increase the severity of yellowing. These stones are more expensive,and it is best to add stainless steel bars.
06. Pay attention to stone surface protection technology
At present, marble products are not waterproof. If the waterproofing is done well, the marble products reinforced with steel bars should not have water entering the interior of the stone, and the phenomenon of rusting of steel bars will not occur.
It is necessary to attach great importance to the waterproof of stone products to ensure its well sealed. Don't use inferior waterproofing sealer to save costs,causing steel bars to rust. Because marble lesions caused by rusting of the back tendons cannot be cured.
